To the east of Red Square is the Lenin’s mausoleum which serves as the resting place of former Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin. The Saint Basil’s Cathedral, a church, can be seen to the south of Red Square. This has now been changed to a museum. Close to the Kremlin is the GUM store. Most of the motor highways are connected to the Red Square, and it is from here these roads originate. Many military parades also take place here.
