Alexander garden was one Moscow’s first urban public parks. The park is nearly 900 meters long along the western wall of Kremlin. Construction began in 1819, and it took nearly four years to complete it. It consists of three separate gardens, the upper, the middle and the lower garden. At the main entrance of the park is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with an eternal flame. A body of an unknown soldier is laid here mourning the sacrifice of thousands of soldiers who gave their lives in the World War 2. The gates of the parks were also designed to commemorate the victories of Russia over Napoleon.
