Bukhara was a significant trade center along with the Silk Route and was captured by Arab forces in 709. It was made the capital of the Sāmānid dynasty during the 9 th and 10 th centuries. It was seized by the Qarakhanids, Karakitais before it was taken over by Genghis Khan and late by Timur. In 1506, Uzbek Shaybānids, conquered Bukhara and made it the capital of their state
