Kecharis Monastery is located north-west of Tsakhkadzor which means the gorge of flowers. There are four churches in Kecharis Monastery; these are Saint GrigorLusavorich Church, Saint Nshan Church, Saint Astvatsatsin Church, SaintHarutyun Church. There are also two chapels and a gravit in the monastery. In the compound of the monastery, there are many khachkars from twelfth and thirteenth centuries among which the architect Vetsik’s tombstone is most popular.

In the eleventh century, the Princes Pahlavuni started the construction of the monastery. Later the renovation has been done several times, and for the very last time, the monastery was renovated on 9th July 2000 by Nersisyan.
