Moscow
Moscow is the capital and the largest city in Russia. It is also the largest city in Europe by both population and area. It is situated on the banks of the Moscow River, which flows through central Russia. Moscow is known for its harsh and long winters which could last from mid-November to mid-March. Moscow is the cultural and political center of Russia.
It is well known for its beautiful architecturally significant landmarks, best in class museums and also its rich culture. Majority of the population living in Moscow is of the Christian faith, but a wide variety of religious groups can also be seen there. The opening and closing ceremony of the 2018 FIFA world cup was held at the Luzhiniki stadium in Moscow which saw a large increase in the number of tourists traveling to the city.

- Sparrow hills were formerly known as Lenin Hills up until 1999. It is one of the highest points in Moscow.
St. Isaac's Cathedral
Saint Isaac’s Cathedral located in St. Petersburg was started by Emperor Alexander I in 1858. The responsibility of the chief architect for the construction was given to Auguste de Montferrand. The development of the Cathedral was completed by Emperor Nicholas I in 1858.
Saint Isaac’s Cathedral is known to be one of the most remarkable landmarks in Russia. It was initially the main church and also the largest cathedral in Russia. It flaunts incredible interiors with paintings, sculptures, etc. The church can accommodate around 14 to 15 thousand worshipers. The Cathedral was closed in the early 1930s and was resuscitated as a museum. Saint Isaac’s Cathedral attracts a lot of visitors to Russia.
Bronze Horseman
The statue of Bronze Horseman can be called an impressive piece by the founder of St. Petersburg who is called Peter the Great. Located in the Senate Square, the Bronze Horseman is surrounded by the St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Étienne Maurice Falconet, a sculptor from France, created it. The name of the statue comes from the poem penned by Aleksandr Pushkin under the same name.
The monument was constructed after the command from the Empress Catherine the Great to pay tribute to her predecessor, Peter the Great. The pedestal of the statue is made up of red granite and above it is the statue of Peter on his mighty horse. The monument is a representation of the enemies of Peter and the changes he brought to Russia.
