Charyn Canyon

Charyn Canyon is a spectacular attraction of Almaty tours which is a must-visit place. Charyn Canyon is a 150m long and 300m deep canyon made by the carving of the swift river Charyn over millions of years. Kolsai Lake National Park

Kolsai Lakes National Park is a beautiful place with lush greenery, is located on the north slope of the mount Alatau in the southeast part of  Kazakhstan. The park is also called as the Pearls of Tien Shan. The main attraction of the park is the Kolsai Lakes which is located between the district of Raiymbek and the district of Talgar of Almaty, and the park is named after this lake.

There is another beautiful lake located in the park is Lake Kaindy. The boundary of the park is 120 kilometers. There are several hiking trails inside the park and various activities like picnics, mountain biking and horse riding are done here. April to September is the best time to visit the place.

Tian Shan Mountain

The Tian Shan Mountain or the Mountains of Heaven is the large mountain range located in central Asia and the Northern Tien Shan mountain range is located beside Almaty. Kazakh people call the mountain as Alatau and it means “Multi-colored mountains” in the Kazakh language.

The range is just 25 kilometers away from Almaty and it falls in the Alatau – Eliy National park. The hiking tour of this Mount Alatau is very famous in Almaty and there are almost seven hiking trails to hike in Mount Alatau. Big Almaty Lake

The gorgeous Big Almaty Lake is a great attraction of Almaty. This lake is located in 28.5km south of the city Almaty on the narrow valley of the river Bolshaya Almatinka which is 2,511 meters up from the sea level. This lake is 1km wide, 1.6 km long with a depth of 40 meters and it is a part of the Alatau – Eliy National park.

The lake is used for hydroelectric power and it supplies water to the city Almaty, but it still maintains its spectacular mountain vista. Surrounding the lake there are three mountains, Sovetov in the southeast, Ozyorny in the south and Tourist in the southwest, which make the view picturesque being in the backdrop and reflecting in the water.

Shymbulak Ski Resort

The Shymbulak ski resort is the biggest ski resort of central Asia, provided with almost every kind of convenience a skier could have. Shymbulak is located in the upper part of the Medeo valley in the mountain range of Zaiilisky Alatau. This ski resort is situated in a height of 2,200 meters from the sea level and 25 kilometers away from the Almaty city.

People can reach Shymbulak from Medeo by gondola. There is a good quality snow base of 1.5 to 1.8 meters in winter here with an approximate temperature of minus seven-degree celsius. The ski season in Shymbulak is around entire the winter season which is from November to April.

Almaty Arena

The famous Almaty Arena is a high-tech multi-purpose indoor stadium. This stadium is located in the north of Ryskulov Avenue and the west of the Momyshuly Street in the district Alatau. The construction of this Arena was started in 2014 and completed in 2016 and it cost $170 million.

There are three units in the complex, the ice arena with a capacity of 12000 seats, a training rink with a complex of recreation and a swimming pool. This Almaty Arena was opened on 18th September 2016 with the game of ice hockey with 12000 sitting capacity of spectators. Other than ice hockey, boxing, basketball, figure skating, and many concerts and events take place here. The Winter Universiade of 2017 was held in Almaty Arena for Almaty Tour Package.
